6 Best Places to Work and Study in East London

By now, all of you are probably already settled in a student residence, shared house or with us in Bethnal Student Living, and you have likely started at University too which is actually great!

No doubt, you have also been exploring and enjoying London during this time before the essays and exams begin, but it is important you discover the best spots and cosy places where you can do your homework and study for your exams.  Here are some of our suggestions:

  1. Study Room in your Residence

One of the best places to get focused (and be sociable at the same time) is in the Study Room of your Student Accommodation if it has one like ours at Bethnal Student Living.

It is the closest place from your room and you have the possibility of wearing comfy clothes as all the people you see will be other students living in the same building. It is also a nice way to socialise with other people in the same situation as you.

  1. Bethnal Green Library

For those who prefer not to be disturbed by any kind of noise, libraries are always the best choice.

The Bethnal Green Library is a 3-minute walk from Bethnal Green Tube Station (Central line), right by the park.  It’s a community library situated in a beautiful old building. You can check the opening hours by clicking here.

  1. Second Shot Coffee – Coffee Shop

If you are more likely to work on an essay instead of studying a subject and you prefer to enjoy a nice coffee (with the option to get also brunch) while listening to music like Nora Jones in a trendy environment, this is your place.

They open early in the mornings and close early in the afternoons, but it is a really cool place (even if it’s a bit pricey).

  1. The Book Club

The Book Club is located in the heart of Shoreditch and is a large space of spacious rooms with long tables. It is a very useful and comfortable to work in groups and teams for your University projects.  You can end your night there as they serve coffee,  make food, and prepare cocktails, and at night it becomes a nightclub downstairs.
